Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition is a remastered version of Techland’s open-world, co-op action RPG set in the Banoi archipelago. Picking up where Dead Island left off, it follows a group of immune survivors stranded on the island of Palanai after a failed evacuation. Battle through hordes of infected with brutal, melee-focused combat and improvised firearms, scavenge resources, and craft customized weapons using blueprints. Level up character-specific skill trees, fortify safe zones against onslaughts, and traverse flooded areas by boat while facing new enemy types like the Drowner. Play solo or in up to four-player online co-op.
The Definitive Edition enhances the 2013 release with upgraded visuals, higher-resolution textures, improved lighting and effects, and includes all previously released DLC and cosmetic packs. It retains the signature weapon crafting, drop-in/drop-out co-op, and introduces John Morgan, a new playable hand-to-hand specialist, alongside the original four protagonists.
